In this study, the relationship between the practice of teaching and the attitudes of the last grade students of the Faculty of Theology, Ondokuz Mayıs University, towards the teaching was examined. This research was accomplished to the total of 683 teacher candidates who worked at the schools for the purpose of practicing of teaching in the academic years of 1998-1999, 1999-2000 and 2000-2001. In the study, “an attitude scale of orientation to the teaching” was administered to the teacher candidates. In general, it was found that the attitudes of teacher candidates towards the teaching were positive. Some statistical significances were found in terms of the practice of teaching and the attitudes toward it between the following variables: whether the teacher candidates found themselves in teaching qualified or not, whether the teaching process contributed to their development of career or not, and whether they had any problems concerning to the students during the practice of teaching in the schools or not.
