Abstract:

In this study, It has been evaluated the views of the students who receive geography education at university level about weather condition concept. Phenomenology which is one of the qualitative research methods has been used in the study for the purpose of receiving the views of students about weather condition concept. 286 geography students who are enrolled at Ataturk Education and Science and Literature Faculties at Marmara University have taken part in the study. However, 273 questionnaires which have been considered as valid were included by the study in terms of consistency. Data has been collected via semi-structured questionnaire. In consequence of phenomenological analyze performed, 5 different weather condition identification categories have been identified. In additon, it has been determined that geography students from both Education and Science and Literature Faculties had the misconceptions about "weather condition" and "climate" concepts.
