Abstract:

177 primary school inspectors participated in this study, which aimed at determining the research skills they possess and their views on research training. It is used as a data collection tool. The results of the research can be gathered in four points: a) Approximately half of the inspectors involved in the research have not sufficient research qualifications. (b) Again, half of the group indicates that they are unable to use the skills they have to transfer to teachers and to develop themselves sufficiently, and that these skills will not be applied in the educational environment. (c) Two important reasons for the lack of sufficient use of research qualifications are the lack of adequate research environment and the priority of the other tasks assigned to the inspectors by the regulations. (d) The participants of the research consider the provision of research training in primary education necessary and beneficial, and believe that the existing system is not suitable for such training.
