The purpose of this research was to investigate the validity and reliability of Nowicki-Strickland Internal-External Locus of Control Scale (1973). The scale was administered to 337 adolescents in grades 7 through 10. Five factors were extracted by principal component analysis with varimax rotation; the factors were named locus of control for relationship with parents, locus of control for achievement, locus of control for relationship with peers, locus of control for superstition and locus of control for faith. Factor items had minimum loadings of .30 and accounted for % 38.98 of the total variance. The internal consistency correlations of the sub-scales were .74, .59, .61, .62, and .47. The internal consistency correlation of the total scale was .72..
