This study examines the attitudes of students in pre-service teacher training programs towards teaching profession by the program, class and gender. The study group consisted of 511 students enrolled in the four pre-service teacher training programs and the five year pre-service teacher training programs at Necatibey Education Faculty of Balıkesir University. Data were collected by using “Attitude Measurement Scale for Teaching Profession”, developed by Üstüner. To test between group differences, data were analyzed by using t-test and analysis of variance. Results indicated that attitudes of students towards teaching profession were positive, and its level was high, at least at the level of “agree”. The mean score of females' attitudes towards teaching was found higher than those of males. The findings on the comparison of different branches showed that the attitudes of the students at the department of Social Sciences and English Language Teaching were higher than those at Science and Math departments. It was found, that there was not a significant difference in the attitudes towards teaching by program and class.
