Abstract:

Hasan Bayrı (1914-1990) is one of the important poets raised by Bartın. He started writing poems in primary school and continued to write all his life and he became famous for composing his poem "This Is What Love Ah". He wrote his poems under the influence of folk literature and mysticism. He published three poetry books in the last years of his life: This What Love Ah (1980), Why Roads Don't End (1981), Will He Never Laugh (1981). Today, Bartın Municipality giving a poetry award to his name and has an important place in Bartın's literary accumulation. However, there has not been a tidy study of Bayrı's life and art. In this article, we will put forward his life especially in the light of the information obtained from our interviews with Bayrı's relatives. After that, ee will examine the literary personality that develops around "This Is What Love Ah".
