Egyptian ‘Abbās Maḥmūd al-‘Aqqād is one of the leading litteratuer in the 20th century with his identity as a journalist, poet and literary critic. What makes him different from his contemporaries is that with reading a large number of western works in many areas such as psychology, sociology, history and literature, especially philosophy mainly because of his foreign language dominance and in the light of the information obtained from these sources, he has revealed a new point of view about Arab poetry and poetry criticism. This new approach compared to the classical style of poetry built on traditional patterns of the old more free and intangible but still closely related to the real world. This new approach introduced by ‘Aqqād brought some changes to the poem not only structurally but also contextually. One of these changes is the reconstruction of the beauty which is the subject of all branches of art. ‘Abbās Maḥmūd al-‘Aqqād While trying to put forward his own ʻ beauty ’understanding, he has been nourished by the views of art, aesthetics and beauty of many philosophers from antiquity to modern. In this study, his views on ‘beauty’ and the ‘beauty’ phenomenon in his poems are tried to be examined.
