Abstract:

The aim of this study was to determine associate degree financial program students’ performance on financial literacy questions by using PISA questions and its evaluation criteria. In addition, the financial literacy skills of the students were discussed in terms of the context, content and process dimensions that constitute the PISA literacy structure. For this purpose, 10 financial literacy questions of PISA 2012 and 2015 tests were used.  The participants were 40 students of a state university in the West Mediterranean region of Turkey. PISA methods were used in the implementation of the study, in the evaluation and classification of the students’ levels of performance. As a result of the study, it was determined that students were stacked at level 2 financial literacy level and financial literacy skills were weak despite having received financial education. It was concluded that more studies about financial literacy education are needed and financial literacy should be integrated into the education system.
