Abstract:

The study on teaching Turkish as a foreign language has gained a great pace in recent years. The Great Student Project, which was implemented in the 1992-1993 academic year on the declaration of independence of the Turkish Republics, has led to an increase in the number of research related to the field. The vast majority of the research is providing important information, opinions and materials to address the language needs of foreign citizens arriving in Turkey. The aim of this study is to provide a list of the words and terms they need in their fields to foreigners studying in the field of Economics and Administrative Sciences in Turkey. The work is in the imaginary quality and established according to the basic quality research pattern. The research has taken advantage of the documents used in the quality research methods as data collection tools and the semi-configured conversation form. The curriculum of the Economics, Business, Public Administration, Finance and Economics departments in which foreign citizens are studying at the Faculty of Economic and Administrative Sciences are the documents used in research. The data obtained from these documents have been obtained with frequency and percentage values subject to visual analysis. In another data collection tool, discussions were also held with teachers who taught in the relevant programs. It is believed that the words, group and terms listed in the "First 1000 Words List" will be effective in meeting the language needs of students and in guiding the work to be done in the relevant field.

The majority of the studies include important informations, opinions and materials for troubleshooting language needs of foreign students coming to Turkey. The purpose of this study, to provide a list of words and terms they need in the area to foreigners studying Economics and Administrative Sciences in Turkey. The study is descriptive and it is designed according to the basic qualitative research design. In this research, semi-structured interview form and documents used in qualitative research methods were used as data collection tools. In the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, the curriculum of the departments of Economics, Business Administration, Public Administration, Finance and Econometrics, where foreign students are studying, are the documents used in the research. The data obtained from these documents were subjected to descriptive analysis and frequency and percentage values were obtained. In another data collection tool, interviews were conducted with the lecturers who gave lectures in related programs. It is thought that the words, phrases and terms in “The First 1000 Words List” determined will be effective in meeting the language needs of the students and guiding the studies in the related field.
