Yetişkinlerin Ruhsal Hastalığa/Hastalara Yönelik Tutumları

Abstract:

Çalışmada yetişkinlerin ruhsal hastalığa/hastalara yönelik tutumlarının incelenmesi amaçlandı. Tanımlayıcı ve kesitsel tipte tasarlanan bu araştırmada, veriler 15 Mart-15 Mayıs 2016 tarihleri arasında, bir il merkezindeki Aile Sağlığı Merkezi’nden sağlık hizmeti alan ve çalışmaya gönüllülük esasıyla katılan, 312 yetişkin bireyden anket yöntemi ile yüz yüze görüşerek toplandı. Bu araştırmadaki veriler, Tanımlayıcı Özellikler Formu ve Ruhsal Sorunlu Bireylere Yönelik Toplum Tutumları Ölçeği kullanılarak toplandı. Veriler, SPSS 20.0 programıyla değerlendirildi. Tanımlayıcı istatistikler (sayı, yüzde, ortalama, standart sapma) ve nonparametrik testler (Kruskall-Wallis Testi, Mann-Whitney U Testi) kullanıldı. Araştırmaya katılan kişilerin %51.3’ü kadın ve katılımcıların yaş ortalaması 39.32±11.51’dir. Toplum ruh sağlığı ideolojisi alt ölçek puan ortalaması 29.0±4.0, iyi niyet alt ölçek puan ortalaması 27.8±3.8, korku/dışlama alt ölçek puan ortalaması 6.1±1.7 ve toplam ölçek puan ortalaması 63.0±7.3’tür. Kadınların, iyi niyet, korku/dışlama ve toplam ölçek puan ortalamalarının erkeklere göre,  üniversite mezunu olanların toplam puan ortalamasının, ilkokul ve lise mezunu olanlara göre, kentsel çevrede yetişenlerin korku/dışlama alt ölçek puan ortalamasının, kırsal çevrede yetişenlere göre anlamlı düzeyde yüksek olduğu ve bu sonuçların istatistiksel açıdan anlamlılık taşıdığı saptandı (p<0.05). Araştırmaya katılanlardan kadınların ruhsal hastalığı erkeklere göre daha çok kabullendiği, erkeklere göre ruhsal hastalıklardan daha çok korktuğu, kentsel çevrede yetişenlerin kırsal çevrede yetişenlere göre, ruhsal hastalığa karşı daha çok olumsuz tutum gösterdikleri, üniversite ve lise mezunlarının ruhsal hastalığı daha çok kabullendiği belirlendi. Toplumun ruhsal hastalıklar konusunda görüşlerinin belirlenmesi ve olumsuz görüşlerinin değişimine yönelik bilgilendirici eğitimlerin yapılması önerilmektedir.

The study was aimed at examining the attitudes of adults towards mental illness/patients. In this study, designed in identificative and cutting-edge type, the data was collected between 15 March and 15 May 2016 by face-to-face interviewing the survey method of 312 adults who received health care from a family health center in a province center and participated in the work voluntarily. The data in this study was collected using the Identifying Characteristics Form and the Social Attitudes Measurement towards Persons with Spiritual Problems. The data was evaluated with the SPSS 20.0 program. Identifying statistics (number, percentage, average, standard deviation) and nonparametric tests (Kruskall-Wallis Test, Mann-Whitney U Test) were used. The average age of 51.3 percent of the participants was 39.32±11. It is 51. The social mental health ideology is the low scale score average of 29.0±4.0, the good intention low scale score average of 27.8±3.8, the fear/exception low scale score average of 6.1±1.7 and the total scale score average of 63.0±7.3. The average scale of women, goodwill, fear/exclusion and total scale; the average scale of college graduates, primary and high school graduates, the average scale of fear/exclusion in urban environments, the average scale of fear/exclusion in urban environments, the average scale of goodwill, fear/exclusion and total scale; the average scale of college graduates, the average scale of college graduates, the average scale of fear/exclusion in urban environments, the average scale of fear/exclusion, the average scale of fear/exclusion, the average scale of fear/exclusion, the average scale of fear/exclusion, the average scale of fear/exclusion, the average scale of fear/exclusion, the average scale of fear/exclusion, the average The researchers found that women were more accepted by mental illness than men, more afraid of mental illness than men, that urban adults were more negative to mental illness than rural adults, and that university and high school graduates were more accepted by mental illness. It is recommended that the community identify their opinions about mental illnesses and informative training is conducted to change their negative opinions.

The aim of this study was to investigate the attitudes of adults towards mental diseases and patients. In this descriptive and cross-sectional study. The data were collected by face-to-face interviews with 312 adult volunteers from a Family Health Center in a provincial center between 15 March-15 May 2016. Data in this research were collected using Specifications Form and Scale of the Community Attitudes Towards the Mentally. Data were evaluated with SPSS program. Descriptive statistics, Kruskall-Wallis Test and Mann-Whitney U Test were used. 51.3% of the participants were women, mean age of the participants was 39.32±11.51. The mean score of the community mental health ideology subscale was 29.0±4.0, goodwill subscale was 27.8±3.8, fear/exclusion subscale was 6.1±1.7, the mean total score was 63.0±7.3. Women's mean scores of goodwill, fear/exclusion, total scale; it was found that the mean score of the university students who graduated from primary school and high school graduates was significantly higher than those who grew up in urban environment compared to those who grew up in rural environment and these results were statistically significant (p<0.05). It was determined that the women were more likely to accept mental diseases than men, feared more from mental diseases than men, and those who grew up in urban environment had more negative attitudes towards mental diseases than those who grew up in rural environment, and university and high school graduates were more likely to accept mental diseases. It is recommended to determine the views of the society on mental diseases and to provide informative trainings to change the negative views of the society.
