Bu çalışmanın amacı, özel yetenekli öğrencilerin ve biyoloji danışman öğretmenlerinin biyoloji proje çalışmaları hakkındaki görüşlerinin belirlenmesidir. Çalışma grubu, Marmara Bölgesi’nde bulunan iki BİLSEM’de öğrenim gören 46 özel yetenekli öğrenci ile 2 biyoloji danışman öğretmeninden oluşmaktadır. Çalışmada nitel çalışma metodu kullanılmıştır. Veriler, Biyoloji Alanı Proje Çalışması ile İlgili Öğrenci Anketi, Biyoloji Alanı Proje Çalışması ile İlgili Danışman Öğretmen ve Öğrenci Görüşme Formları kullanılarak toplanmıştır. Nitel veriler içerik analizi tekniğine göre analiz edilmiştir. Araştırmada, özel yetenekli öğrencilerin orijinal proje konusu bulmakta zorlandıkları ve proje konularının danışman öğretmenler tarafından önerildiği, biyoloji proje çalışmalarının planlanma, sunum, değerlendirme ve proje raporu süreçlerinde bazı sorunlar yaşandığı belirlenmiştir.
The aim of the study was to determine the views of gifted students and biology consultant teachers about the process of biology project work in Science and Art Centers. The study group consisted of 46 gifted students and 2 biology consultant teachers at two science and art centers (SACs) located in Marmara Region. Qualitative research method was employed. Data were collected through a student questionnaire related to biology project work, and through student and consultant teacher interview forms related to biology project work. Analysis of quality data was made by content analysis. The results reveal that the gifted students had some difficulties in finding original project topics, that the project topics were proposed by the consultant teachers, and that the students had some problems in the planning, presentation, evaluation and reporting processes of biology project work.
