Abstract:

Shepherds put and sheep has an important place in the cultivation. Animals who participate as a game tool in the activities organized on the basis of entertainment also show their ties with humans. In this study, the activity of passing the sheep from the water, which is the sheep’s holiday held in Denizli-Çal-Aşağıseyit, was detailed by describing its place and importance in the Turkish culture. Literary scan, which is the necessary tools for achieving the goal in the light of the method of understanding for the study, has been used in the field of observation, deep interview and field research techniques. Each stage of the water sheep passing activity is documented with photos and added to the text section in a way that supports the work.
