Abstract:

The sustainability of the capitalist market system is based on the continuity of economic growth. The economic growth of the world economy in the last century is based on the relatively cheaper access to renewable resources such as forests and non-renewable resources such as oil and minerals. The increase in consumption of these resources for economic growth has left the world faced with the climate and ecological crisis. Ragnarok is the event that the end of everything within the cosmos, also known as the Day of Resurrection in the Scandinavian mythology, comes. During the period of Ragnarok, it has been seen that not only humans, but gods and giants have disappeared. Ragnarok is a messenger of the climate crisis that is happening today. It is the hypothesis of the study that the elements that cause climate change are not only derived from the uneffective management of world resources, but that capitalism is derived from its own logic. The hypothesis of the study was sought by data, the consequences of the climate crisis and the mythology.
