Abstract:

Education is the first of the areas where globalization is most affected. Millions of people in the world that we are within can accomplish this goal by leaving their own country in order to get education. In this direction, individuals need families and the states support their citizens to receive education in better conditions, thus facilitating international student mobility. Individuals who go abroad in order to get education at different levels can make significant economic contributions with their consumption spending in the countries and cities they go. This is why today many countries, cities and universities give these students mainly economic, social, cultural, etc. reasons. He tries to take himself for reasons. This study discusses the contribution of the consumer spending of international students who come to the University of Kastamonu in order to get education to the city economy. The study found that the average monthly spending of international students was 1364,54 TL. International students make the maximum spending for accommodation with $422.79 per month. The second highest spending is 154.63 TL for food and no-alcoholic beverages. Communication is the type of expenditure that international students spend at the minimum of 40,52 TL. According to the study, the average monthly contribution of 2574 international students to the city of Kastamonu, who were taught in the 2018-2019 academic year at the University of Kastamonu, is estimated at 3,367,525,48 TL, while the annual contribution of international students is estimated at 35,646,287,62 TL.
