Abstract:

This study aims to reveal the risk of high school students leaving school. This study is based on the karma method research model. In the study, a distinctive ordered karma pattern model was preferred. The study’s quantitative size sample group consists of 552 high school students studying in the state schools in the center of the province of Giresun. The study’s quality study group consists of 27 students. Participants are determined by the measurement sample method. The study used the 'School Leaving Risk Measure' to identify the risk of students leaving school. The data in the quality size of the research is obtained by a semi-configured interview form developed by the researcher. Nicel findings have determined that the scale failure perception is under-dimensional 11, the silent behavior is under-dimensional 17 and the antisocial behavior is under-dimensional 21 students are at risk of leaving school. In the quality size of the study, 21 sub-themes and four main themes related to individual factors were identified. The main topics are in the form of academic failure, family environment, disciplinary problems and social incompatibility. There are 16 sub-themes and three main themes on the factors related to the school. The main topics are in the form of the classroom environment, the teacher’s attitude and the attitude of the school management. There are 21 sub-themes and four main themes related to social factors. The main topics are in the form of the attitude of the family, the family structure, the look at the school of the close environment and the university exam concern. The lack of basic information, family problems and the economic problems of their families are triggering the leaving school.
