Abstract:

Abstract:

In the support provided by the state to media enterprises, official advertising and advertising revenues are one of the main sources of income for the local press. Today, the date of the distribution of the incomes carried out by the press agency is quite ancient. During the period, some local newspapers are criticized that they are only established to benefit from this income, and sometimes it appears that the local press has a difficulty to carry out the conditions of benefit from the announcement and, if necessary, to share the official announcement income distributed at the provincial level. With the support of the Press Advertising Institution, in 2012 the process of unification of the local press was intense. This study focuses on the assembly of a newspaper that could be considered to be quite early in the 1960s following the establishment of the Press Release Institute. This unification occurred with the publication of the Amasian Voice, Emel, June 12 and Green Posts as a single newspaper in November 1964, named Sabah. Also, this association is one of the breathing newspapers associations of your Turkish press history. One of the important findings obtained by the study is that the process was made to benefit from the official advertising and advertising revenues. Another important conclusion is that the process has been encouraged by the state.

Abstract:

Among State aided fund transfers, formal announcement and advertisement revenues are one of the major income sources for local press.   History about the distribution process of these resources by Press and Announcement Agency is very old dated. Occasionally, some critics occurred that some local newspapers were established just to receive these revenues, but sometimes it is observed that local press members tended to unite since the conditions are as hard as receiving benefits of advertisements or with an aim to share the aggregated formal advertisement revenues at provincial level.  An intense Union process for local newspapers as experienced in 2012 with support of Press and Publishment Agency. This study is about a comparatively early dated union of newspapers in 1960s, just after foundation of Press and Announcement Agency. This merger was realized with the publication of Amasya Sesi, Emel, 12 Haziran and Yeşilırmak Postası as a single newspaper in November 1964 under the name Sabah.  Besides this union is one of the longest newspaper unions in Turkish press history.  One the most significant findings of the study is that the union was aimed at benefiting from formal announcement and advertisement revenues.
