Azerbaycan Edebiyatı, Türk dünyası edebiyatları arasında modernleşme sürecinde daha hızlı ve daha başarılı bir süreç yaşamıştır. Özellikle 19. Yüzyılın sonları ile 20. Yüzyılın başlarında Sovyetler Birliği kuruluncaya kadar Anadolu ile olan ilişkileri nedeniyle Azerbaycanlı yazar ve şairlerin farklı bir dünya görüşü ve edebi anlayışla eser verdiklerini görmekteyiz. Bu dönemin önemli isimlerinden biri de Hüseyin Cavit’tir. Azerbaycan edebiyatında romantizmin önde gelen şairi Cavit aynı zamanda milliyetçi dünya görüşünün de güçlü kalemlerinden biridir. Bu nedenle Sovyetler Birliği kurulduktan sonra çok ciddi takiplere maruz kalmış önce eserleri sansüre uğramış daha sonra 1937 Stalin terörü döneminde ise tutuklanmış ve sürgünde hayatını kaybetmiştir. Hem eserleri hem de fikirleri ile Azerbaycan’ın fikir ve edebiyat dünyasında müstesna bir yere sahip olan şair aynı zamanda yaşadıkları ile de bir dramın aslî unsuru olmuştur. Bu çalışmamızda Hüseyin Cavit’in şiir ve düşünce dünyası üzerine değerlendirmelerde bulunduk. Hüseyin Cavit fikrî yapısındaki gelişim sürecini ve millet ve vatan sevgisini kaynaklarıyla ortaya koymaya çalıştık.

One of the most important names of this time is Hussein Cavit. Cavit, the leading poet of romanticism in Azerbaijan literature, is also one of the strong penses of the nationalist worldview. Therefore, after the establishment of the Soviet Union, he was subjected to very serious followings, first his works were censored and then in the period of Stalin's terrorism in 1937 he was arrested and lost his life in exile. The poet, who has both his works and his ideas and a unique place in the world of ideas and literature of Azerbaijan, has also been the original element of a drama with his lives. In this work we have been evaluating the world of poetry and thought of Hussein Cavit. We tried to reveal the process of development in the ideological structure of Hussein Cavit and the love of the nation and the patriotic with its sources.
