Sürdürülebilir kalkınmayı temel alan enerji atılımları, çevresel duyarlılığa ve sorumluluğa sahip bireylerden oluşan toplumlarla mümkündür. Bu nedenle hidroelektrik santrallere yönelik bireylerin görüşlerinin, bilgilerinin, farkındalıklarının ve tutumlarının belirlenmesinin önemli olduğu düşünülmektedir. Bu araştırma ile Fen Bilgisi öğretmen adaylarının hidroelektrik santraller ile ilgili görüşlerinin belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Araştırma, Türkiye’de bir devlet üniversitesinin Eğitim Fakültesi dördüncü sınıfında öğrenim gören 72 Fen Bilgisi öğretmen adayıyla yürütülmüştür. Genel tarama modeli ile yürütülen araştırmada veriler, hidroelektrik santrallerin çevresel, biyolojik, ekonomik, güvenlik ve sosyal boyutlarına yönelik 5 açık uçlu soru ile elde edilmiştir. Elde edilen veriler, betimsel analiz yöntemi ile analiz edilmiştir. Araştırma sonuçları, öğretmen adaylarının hidroelektrik santrallerinin kurulmasını desteklemekle birlikte hidroelektrik santrallerinin kurulacağı yerin seçiminde tüm faktörler göz önünde bulundurularak çevreye ve sosyal hayata en az zarar verecek şekilde planlanması gerektiği görüşünde olduklarını ortaya koymaktadır. Ayrıca sonuçlar öğretmen adaylarının hidroelektrik santrallerin çevresel, biyolojik, ekonomik, güvenlik ve sosyal boyutları ile avantaj ve dezavantajlarının farkında olduklarını göstermektedir.
The energy enterprises that are based on sustainable development are possible with the societies that consist of the individuals with the environmental awareness and responsibility. Thus, it is considered that it is important to determine the individuals' opinions, knowledge, awareness and attitude related to the hydroelectric plants. It is aimed with this research that the science teaching candidates' opinions related to the hydroelectric plants are determined. The study was conducted with a total of 72 fourth-year science teacher candidates attending the education faculty of a public university in Turkey. The data in the research which has been conducted with the general survey model has been obtained with 5 open-ended questions related to the hydroelectric plants' environmental, biological, economic, security and social aspects. The obtained data has been analyzed with the descriptive analysis method. The research results reveal that the teaching candidates have the opinion that it is necessary to plan the hydroelectric plants in a way of damaging to the environment and social life at least as they support the establishment of hydroelectric plants and in consideration with all the factors to select the place where the hydroelectric plants will be established. Moreover, the results show that the teaching candidates are aware of the hydroelectric plants, advantages and disadvantages with their environmental, biological, economic, security and social aspects.
