Bu çalışmada akademik bir disiplin ve uygulamalı bir meslek olan sosyal hizmetin bilgi üretiminde önemli rol oynayan Toplum ve Sosyal Hizmet Dergisi’nde yayınlanan (1983-2017) makalelerin bazı değişkenler açısından incelenmesi ve makale başlıklarından yararlanarak, dergide en çok konu edilen kelime/kavramların ortaya çıkarılması amaçlanmıştır. Bu doğrultuda araştırmada nicel içerik analizi yapılmıştır. Öncelikle Dergi’de yayınlanan makalelerin tanıtıcı bilgilerine (yılı, türü, yazı dili, yazar sayısı, yazarların sosyal hizmetle ilişkisi) yer verilmiş sonrasında ise makalelerin başlıklarında geçen kelimelerin sıklığı incelenmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda, Dergide çok derleme makale yazılmış olduğu ve araştırma tasarımı açısından da en çok nicel tasarım kullanıldığı bulgusuna ulaşılmıştır. Dergide en çok Türkçe ve tek yazarlı makaleler yer almıştır. Ayrıca makaleler en çok sosyal hizmet bölümü akademisyenleri tarafından yazılmıştır. Makalelerin başlıkları üzerinden kelime taraması yapıldığında “sosyal” ve “hizmet” kelimelerinden sonra en sık kullanılan kelimelerin “çocuk” ve “aile” kelimeleri olduğu görülmüştür. Bu kapsamda Toplum ve Sosyal Hizmet Dergisi’nde en çok çocuk ve aile refahı bağlamında çalışmalar yer almaktadır. Gelecekte yapılacak araştırmalarda, üretilen sosyal hizmet bilgileri, özel gruplar odağında incelenebilir, anahtar kelimeler üzerinden çalışılabilir ve sosyal hizmet alanında üretilen farklı akademik dergilerin taraması yapılabilir.
This study is an academic discipline and a practical profession, which plays an important role in the information production of social services published in the Journal of Social and Social Services (1983-2017) with the aim of examining some variables and using the articles titles, to identify the words/covers that are much-themed in the magazine. In this context, a qualitative content analysis has been carried out. First, the introductory information of the articles published in the magazine (year, type, writing language, number of writers, the relationship of the writers with social services) was included, and then the frequency of the words passed in the headlines of the articles was studied. The research results have found that the magazine has written multiple editing articles and that many quantitative designs are used in research designs. The magazine contains many Turkish and single-written articles. The articles are also written by the academics of the social services department. When the words are scaned through the headlines of the articles, the words used after the words “social” and “service” were the words “child” and “family”. In this context, the Society and Social Service Journal includes many work on the context of child and family well-being. In future research, the social service information produced can be studied in the focus of special groups, can be studied through keywords, and the scan of different academic journals produced in the field of social service can be done.
This study examines the articles published in the Journal of Society and Social Work (1983-2017) to identify most of the frequently addressed terms and concepts. To accomplish this, the research uses quantitative content analysis and surveys the articles and their titles with respect to selected variables. First, descriptive review on articles’ publication year, genre, and language, as well as the number of authors and their relation to social work are provided. Second, the frequency of the words in the article titles is analyzed. The results show that a substantial number of articles are review articles, the most frequently utilized research design is quantitative, and the majority of the articles are in Turkish and have a single author. Moreover, the articles are mostly published by scholars affiliated with the social work departments. The analysis of the word counts indicates that, following “social” and “work”, “child” and “family” are the most frequently used terms in the titles. Thus, most of the articles published in the Journal of Society and Social Work are based on studies on child and family welfare. Future studies could analyze the production of knowledge in social work with a focus on specific groups, explore keywords, and review different social work journals.
