Sosyal hizmet disiplini, çalışan çocukların artması ve çalışanların çalışma haklarına erişememesi nedeniyle iş sağlığı ve güvenliği alanında müdahale araçlarını geliştirmeye başlamıştır. Tarım sektörü, çocukların en fazla çalıştığı, çalışanların temel ihtiyaçları ve çalışma yaşamının haklarına erişiminin en sınırlı olduğu sektördür. Çalışmada genç çalışanların çalıştıkları işler ve kişi/ortam faktörlerine ilişkin stres düzeyleri saptanarak sosyal hizmet uygulamalarını tartışmak amaçlanmıştır. Kesitsel tipte yürütülen bu araştırmada, 15-18 yaşları arasında mevsimlik tarım işlerinde çalışan 383 genç küme örneklemiyle seçilmiştir (yanıtlama hızı %95,8). Yüz yüze görüşme yöntemiyle Sosyo-demografik Bilgi Formu ve Mevsimlik Tarım İşçiliği Stres Ölçeği doldurulmuştur. Genç işçilerin %60’ı kadındır. Gençlerin %37’sinin okuma-yazma bilmediği ya da ilkokulu bitirmediği, %95’inin 14 yaşın altında çalışmaya başladığı, yaklaşık %80’inin yaşına uygun olmayan işlerde çalıştığı, %75’inin ise en az bir kez travmatik olay deneyimlediği, %53-81,4 arasında değişen sıklıkta fiziksel, psikososyal ortam ile eğitim ve sağlık durumuna ilişkin stres yaşadıkları belirlenmiştir. Gençlerin %93,7’si çalışma saatlerinin uzun olduğunu bildirmişlerdir. Genç çalışanların %93’ünün sigortasız çalıştığı ve %88,8’inin ücretini tam ve zamanında alamadığı saptanmıştır. Tarım sektörü, kişi/ortam faktörlerine bağlı uzun dönemli stresin fiziksel, ruhsal ve sosyal etkileri nedeniyle çocukların çalışmaması gereken bir alandır. Çocukların çalışmaması, daha iyi risk yönetimi ve hizmete/çalışma yaşamının sunduğu haklara erişim için mikro, mezzo ve makro düzeyde sosyal hizmet uygulamaları gereklidir.
The social service discipline has begun to develop instruments of intervention in the field of health and safety at work due to the increased number of children working and the lack of access to the rights of workers working. The agriculture sector is the sector where children work too much, where the basic needs of workers and the rights of working life are limited. The study aims to discuss the practices of social services by determining the stress levels related to the work of young workers and the persons/mediate factors. In this study, which was conducted in a cutting-edge type, 383 young people aged between 15 and 18 years of age who worked in seasonal agriculture were selected with a sampling rate of 95.8%. The face-to-face conversation method has been filled with the socio-demographic information form and the seasonal agricultural labour stress scale. 60 percent of young workers are women. 37% of young people don’t know how to read and write or not to graduate from primary school, 95% start working under the age of 14, 80% work in non-age jobs, 75% experience traumatic events once, 53-81.4% experience physical, psychosocial, educational and health stress with frequency ranging from 53 to 81.4%. 93.7 percent of young people
The social work discipline has started to develop intervention tools in the area of occupational health and safety due to increased numbers of working children and inability to access to the labour rights. The agricultural sector is the sector in which children work the most and have limited access to the basic needs of workers and the rights of working life. It was aimed to discuss social work practices by determining the stress levels of young workers related to their jobs and individual/environmental factors. In this cross-sectional study 383 young people- between 15-18 ages and working as agricultural workers- were selected by cluster sampling method (response rate was 95,8%). The Socio-demographic Information Form and the Seasonal Agricultural Workers Stress Scale were filled out during face to face interviews. 60% of young workers are women. It was found that 37% of the youth were illiterate or did not finish primary school, 95% of them started to work under 14, about 80% worked in jobs that are not suitable for their ages, 75% of them experienced traumatic events at least once, between 53-81.4% of them reported that they experienced physical, psychosocial and educational and health stresses. 93.7% of youth indicated that work hours are too long. 93% of them worked uninsured, 88.8% of them did not receive their full and timely payment. The agricultural sector is an area where children should not work because of the physical, mental and social effects of long-term stress due to individual / environmental factors. Social work at micro, mezzo and macro levels are required for children not to work, better risk management and enabling access to the life and working rights.
