The statement of financial position depicting the assets, liabilities and equity of the companies at a certain date has a significant effect on the decision making processes of its users. The fact that the statement of financial position provides useful information depends on the measurement bases applied to assets, liabilities and equity that are considered as the components of the statement of financial position. As of today, there are provisions related to measurement bases in three different regulations that are applied to businesses in Turkey. The main objective of this study is to examine the principles of measurement bases that should be applied to the components of the statement of financial position within the framework of the provisions in TAS/TFRS, FRS for LMEs and TPL/GCASA via content analysis approach. Determining the measurement differences between existing regulations is important in terms of increasing adaptation in financial reporting. Findings of the study show that TAS/TFRS and FRS for LMEs are more compatible with each other in terms of measurement bases. TPL/GCASA's adoption of tax oriented measurement bases and its inability to fully meet today's requirements create differences among other regulations.
