Turist rehberleri mesleği gereği farklı demografik düzeylere sahip kişilerle ilişki içinde olmalı, turunun daha iyi geçmesi adına onların duygu, düşünce ve davranışlarını gözlemlemeli, analiz etmeli, etkilemeli ve yönlendirmelidir.  Turist rehberlerinin duygusal zekalarının belirlenmesi turunun sorunsuz geçmesine büyük katkı sağlayacağı düşünülmektedir. Ayrıca duygusal zekalarının turist rehberlerinin motivasyonlarını ve performanslarını etkileme durumu da turist rehberliği mesleğinde sürdürülebilirlik için önemli bir kavram olarak görülmektedir. Bu kapsamda araştırma turist rehberlerinin duygusal zeka, motivasyon ve performansları arasındaki ilişkiyi tespit etmeyi amaçlamaktadır. Araştırmada değişkenler arası ilişkiyi tespit etmeyi amaçladığı için ilişkisel tarama modeli kullanılmış ve 388 turist rehberine uygulanmıştır. Türkiye’nin farklı bölgelerinde profesyonel turist rehberliği yapan 388 çalışanı araştırmanın örneklemini oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmadan elde edilen veriler SPSS programı aracılığı ile analiz edilmiştir. Araştırma sonucuna göre duygusal zeka, performans, motivasyon ve bazı alt boyutları arasında pozitif ve negatif yönlü anlamlı bir ilişki olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Araştırma sonuçlarına göre bazı önerilerde bulunulmuştur.

Abstract:

Tourist guides must be in contact with persons with different demographic levels due to their profession, and to better pass the tour, they must observe, analyze, influence and guide their feelings, thoughts and behaviors.  It is believed that determining the emotional intelligence of tourist guides will make a great contribution to the easy passage of the tour. The state of emotional intelligence influencing the motivations and performance of tourist guides is also seen as an important concept for sustainability in the tourist guidance profession. In this context, the research aims to identify the relationship between emotional intelligence, motivation and performance of tourist guides. For the purpose of the study to identify the intervariable relationship, a relative scanning model was used and applied to 388 tourist guides. There are 388 employees who provide professional tourist guidance in different regions of Turkey that make the sample of the research. The data obtained from the research was analyzed through the SPSS program. The study found that there is a meaningful relationship between emotional intelligence, performance, motivation and some subdimensions, both positive and negative. According to the results of the research, some recommendations have been made.

It is thought that determining the emotional intelligence of the tourist guides will contribute to the smooth running of the tour. In addition, the state of emotional intelligence affecting the motivation and performance of tourist guides is seen as an important concept for sustainability on the tourism guidance . In this context; It aims to determine the relationship between emotional intelligence, motivation and performance of tourist guides. According to the data of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism as of 2018; There are 10.1675 tourist guides working in Turkey. In this research, relational survey model was used to determine the relationship between variables and it was applied to 388 tourist guides. The questionnaire form was applied to the professional tourist guides on different regions in Turkey. According to the results of the research; There were significant positive and negative relationships between emotional intelligence, performance, motivation and some sub-dimensions.
