Kültürün önemli unsurlarından olan dil, bir yandan toplumun hakikatlerini yansıtırken, diğer yandan kültürün yeniden meydana gelmesini ve devamını sağlar. Toplumların geçmişten günümüze kazandıkları bilgi ve deneyimlerinin en önemli aktarıcı ögelerin arasında dil gelir. Sözlü kültürden yazılı kültüre değin tarih, edebiyat, felsefe, folklor, sosyoloji, psikoloji ve ahlak gibi birçok yönde araştırma konusu olan ulusal ve sosyal varlıklar anlatım gücü ve kavram zenginliği bakımında çok önemli dil yapılarıdır. Atasözleri içinden çıkılan bağlamın aynası gibi yüzyıllar boyu değişim ve dönüşümlere bağlı da olsa varlığını sürdürerek bugüne kadar gelir. İnsanoğlunun olduğu yerde bir deneyim ve insan topluluğu olduğu yerde bir kültürel olgudan söz etmek mümkündür. Bu deneyim ve kültürel değerlerin yayılması ve sonraki nesillere aktarılmasında önemli bir köprü vazifesi gören dil, insanlık tarihi açısından da birtakım kazanımları açığa çıkarır. Atasözleri bulunduğu kültür coğrafyasının ve milli değerlerin tüm özelliklerini içinde barındıran ve anlamlar bakımından çeşitlilik gösteren edebi kavram özelliğidir. Atasözleri, bir milletin kimliği niteliğinde olan kalıplaşmış miraslardır. Binlerce yılın ve tecrübenin ürünü olan bu tanıklar, tarihimizin ve atalarımızın şahitleridir. Kültür hayatımızın önemli unsurlarından biri olan bu ifadeler bazen bir hâdiseden bazen bir kıssadan bazen de tüm bunlardan bağımsız olarak tecrübe edilmiştir. Genelde atasözleri üzerinde yapılan çalışma ise de özelde belli hayvanların tarihimizdeki yerlerini tespit etmektir. Bunlar At, Aslan-Arslan ve Deve kavramları üzerinde durulacaktır. Bu çalışmada atasözlerimizde geçen hayvanları ve bunların atasözlerimize kattıkları anlamlar TDK Atasözleri ve Deyimler Sözlüğü ile Ömer Asım Aksoy’un Atasözleri ve Deyimler Sözlüğünden yararlanılarak alfabetik olarak değerlendirilmiştir.
The language, which is an important element of culture, on the one hand reflects the truths of society, while on the other hand ensures the re-creation and continuation of culture. The language is among the most important translators of the knowledge and experience that societies gain from the past to the present. National and social assets, which are the subject of research in many aspects, including history, literature, philosophy, folklore, sociology, psychology and ethics, to written culture, are very important language structures in terms of narrative power and conceptual wealth. As the mirror of the context that is out of the proverbs, it continues to exist until today, although it is dependent on centuries of change and transformation. It is possible to speak of a cultural phenomenon where there is a experience and where there is a human community. The language, which is an important bridge in the spread and transmission of these experiences and cultural values to the next generations, reveals a number of achievements in the history of mankind. It is a literary concept characteristic that contains all the characteristics of the cultural geography and national values in which it is referred and which shows diversity in terms of meanings. They are the legacy of the people who have the identity of the people. These witnesses, which are the product of thousands of years of experience, are witnesses of our history and ancestors. These expressions, which are one of the important elements of our cultural life, are sometimes experienced independently of a story, sometimes a short story, sometimes all of them. Often, the study on the speech is to identify specific places of certain animals in our history. These will be focused on the concepts of Horse, Lion-Arslan and Deve. In this study, the animals that pass in our speeches and the meanings they add to our speeches have been evaluated as alphabetically using the TDK speeches and speeches dictionary and the speeches and speeches dictionary of Omer Asım Aksoy.
