Abstract:

The factors that influence the voter’s behavior and the voter’s behavior are an area in which different fields of science are subject to study and generate information about it. The factors that influence the voter’s behavior can vary according to general and local elections. In this study, topics such as the conceptual study of voter behavior, theoretical approaches to voter behavior and sociological factors affecting voter behavior were first addressed according to literary knowledge.  The findings and results of a field research conducted in order to determine the factors affecting voter behavior in the local elections will be shared. The field research was conducted to the voters living within the limits of the Municipality of Muş and was applied to the number of people statistically calculated who represent the main mass.  The survey questions, literary knowledge and the survey questions used in studies are developed within this research framework. As a result of the data analysis, it can be said that voters are aware of the importance of local governments.
