Çalışmada ilk olarak Türkiye’nin ekonomi politikası dış borç ve büyüme kavramları çerçevesinde ele alınmış, ardından Türkiye’deki büyüme ve dış borç arasındaki ilişkisi 1985-2018 dönemi verileri kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir. En Küçük Kareler (EKK) yöntemiyle dış borcun ekonomik büyüme üzerindeki etkisini incelemek amacıyla doğrusal regresyon analizi yapılmış, GSYH, dış borç ve cari dengeyi temsil eden değişkenler arasındaki nedensellik ilişkisi Eş bütünleşme ve Granger testleri kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir. Elde edilen sonuçlara göre büyüme ve dış borç değişkenleri arasında uzun dönemli bir nedensellik ilişkisinin olmadığı, dış borç düzeyi üzerinde en anlamlı etkiye sahip değişkenin cari denge olduğu ve cari dengeden dış borca doğru tek yönlü bir nedensellik ilişkisi olduğu anlaşılmaktadır.
The study first discussed the economic policy of Turkey in the framework of external debt and growth concepts, then the relationship between growth and external debt in Turkey was analyzed using data from the period 1985-2018. The linear regression analysis was carried out in order to study the impact of external debt on economic growth by the method of the smallest square (ECK), the causal relationship between the variables representing GDP, external debt and carrier balance was analyzed using the GDP integration and Granger tests. According to the results obtained, there is no long-term causal relationship between growth and external debt variables, the variable that has a significant impact on the external debt level is a cary balance and the cary balance is a one-way causal relationship towards the external debt.
