Abstract:

In this study, the 65 companies in the manufacturing sector in Borsa Istanbul examined the financial tables and notes of 2017 and 2018; the policies they applied in financial risk management, the financial risks they encounter during the conduct of their commercial activities, how much they use with derivative products against the risks they encounter and what derivative products they use against which risks. The study found that the interest rate risk, the risk arising from the currency difference, the credit risk and the liquidity risk are the financial risks that companies are often exposed to. In this context, many have been identified as derivative products they use against currency risk and they use this derivative product as temporary currency purchase-sales contracts (forward).
