After the Maastricht summit, the European Community has entered a new era and 12 new countries became members of the European Union as a result of Community’s eastward expansion. Statistically analyzed that why Turkey should not be member of EU as these new members. In examination, comparative statistical analysis was conducted using the Maastricht Criteria as economical perspective and Human Development Index as demographic perspective. As a result of the analysis, according to the Maastricht criteria in most of these countries had no significant changes in rates before member of EU and after member of EU. Examination for compliance of criteria, Turkey had significantly better rates than most of new members. According to comparative statistical analysis as demographic perspective, Turkey has the worst rate than all of these countries and this result was explained that why Turkey still not be a member of EU. This situation issued due to demographic reasons, not economic reasons.
