Bilişim teknolojilerinin gelişmesi ve siber ortamların oluşmasıyla birlikte akran zorbalığı da bir dönüşüm yaşamıştır. Siber zorbalık, bu teknolojiler aracılığıyla karşı tarafa uygulanan bilişsel, duygusal, davranışsal ya da cinsel her türlü zarar verici davranıştır. Gelişim sürecinde kritik bir evre olan ergenlik dönemi bireyleri, siber zorbalık olarak adlandırılan bu davranışların başat hedefi halindedir. Empati yeteneği ise bu süreci kıran ve önüne konulabilecek bir bariyer olarak görülmektedir. Bu çalışma Eskişehir’deki bir özel okulun 7. ve 8. sınıf öğrencilerinin sergiledikleri, maruz kaldıkları siber zorbalık ve siber mağduriyet davranışlarını belirlemektedir. Bu araştırmada öğrencilerin empati yetenekleri ile siber zorbalık-siber mağduriyet davranışları arasında bir ilişki olup olmadığını açığa çıkarmak amaçlanmıştır. Yapılan çalışmada siber zorbalık ve siber mağduriyet arasında anlamlı bir ilişki bulunmuş, aynı zamanda empati yeteneği azaldıkça siber zorbalık davranışının arttığı görülmüştür.
With the development of information technology and the formation of cyber environments, co-trafficking has also experienced a transformation. Cyber harassment is any kind of harmful behavior applied to the opposite through these technologies, cognitive, emotional, behavioral or sexual. Adolescent individuals, which are a critical stage in the development process, are the main target of these behaviors called cyber harassment. The ability to empathy is seen as a barrier that breaks this process and can be overcome. This study determines the behavior of cyber harassment and cyber victim that students of 7th and 8th classes of a private school in Eskişehir show, exposed to. This study aims to reveal whether there is a relationship between students’ empathy abilities and cyber fraud and cyber victim behavior. The study found a meaningful link between cyber harassment and cyber victim, and also found that cyber harassment behavior increased as empathy capacity decreased.

Cyberbullying is the behaviour of any kind of cognitive, emotional, behavioral or sexual harassment that is applied in the relationship through these technologies. Adolescents, who are a critical stage in the development process, are the primary target of these behaviors called cyberbullying. Ability of empathy is seen as a prohibitive for cyberbullying. This study is determined the cyberbullying and cyber-victimization behaviors of 7th and 8th grade students in a private school in Eskisehir. In this research, it is aimed to reveal whether there is a correlation between students’ ability of empathy and cyberbullying, cyber-victimization behaviors. It is revealed that there is a significant correlation between cyberbullying and cyber-victimization, and as the empathy decreased cyberbullying behaviour increased.
