Bu çalışma temel olarak 1980 -2015 arasında neoliberalizmin uluslararası aktörleri olan Uluslararası Para Fonu (IMF), Dünya Bankası ve Dünya Ticaret Örgütü’nün (DTÖ) tarım ekonomisi üzerindeki faaliyetleri ile Türkiye tarım politikaları arasında küçük köylülüğün sosyal ve ekonomik açıdan varlıklarını nasıl sürdürdüklerini ele almaktadır. Bu bağlamda küçük köylülüğün teorik yapısı, neoliberal sistemin Türkiye siyaseti ve küçük üreticilik üzerindeki etkilerini açıklanmaktadır. Mikro bir perspektiften, Edirne özelinde değişen demografik yapısı, tarımsal yapıları ve kırsal - kentsel alanlardaki tarım ve sanayi sektörlerinin etkileşimi Edirne’deki küçük köylülüğün sosyo-ekonomik dönüşümü üzerinden açıklanmaktadır.
This study focuses on the activities of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the World Bank and the World Trade Organization (WTO) on the agricultural economy, which were the international actors of neoliberalism between 1980 and 2015, and how small farmers maintain their social and economic assets between the Turkish agricultural policies. In this context, the theoretical structure of the small countryside is explained, the influence of the neoliberal system on the politics of Turkey and the small productivity. From a micro perspective, the changing demographic structure, agricultural structures and the interaction of the agricultural and industrial sectors in rural and urban areas in Edirne is explained through the socio-economic transformation of the small countryside in Edirne.
