Karadeniz bölgesinde yaşayan ve Âbâza adını taşıyan bir kavme mensup olan Âbâza Mehmed Paşa, Osmanlı’nın bir dönemine damga vurmuş olan Celali isyanlarının baş aktörlerinden biridir. Makalemizde bu tarihi kişiliğin yaşam öyküsüne yer verilmiş olup siyasi kariyeri ve söz konusu isyanlardaki rolü anlatılmaya çalışılmıştır. Çalışmamızdaki amaç, çeviri yazısını verdiğimiz “Ali Cevâd’ın Celâlî Âbâza Mehmed Paşa Biyografisi” isimli eserinden hareketle bir döneme damgasını vurmuş sayılan Celali isyanlarının baş aktörlerinden biri olan Âbâza Mehmed Paşa’nın daha yakından tanıtılması ve incelenmesidir.
