Abstract:

The purpose of this research is to study the entrepreneurial skills of high school students. The study’s sample group consists of 398 students studying at sports high schools in the provinces of Trabzon, Rize, Silverhouse, Army and Giresun (women=148, men=250).  The study’s data collection process 2017-2018 is completed in the second quarter of the educational period. As a data collection tool, the “Entrepreneurship Qualifications Measurement Tool” developed under the project “Astee-Entrepreneurship Education Measurement Tools and Indicators Development” supported by the European Commission in 2014. The problem of employment in recent years has increased the importance of entrepreneurial research. Because the sports sector is also one of the areas where the unemployment problem is faced, this research has been carried out through sports high school students, which are considered as a professional secondary education institution. The results of the test showed that the scores that male students obtained from scale were significantly higher than the girls. The scale scores obtained in terms of participation in sports and participation in sports events are not a significant difference while the students who selectively take the entrepreneurship course have a significantly higher score than those who do not. The research results showed the need to pay more attention to entrepreneurial education from the point of view of high school students.
