Abstract:

Crises that occur at the international field may affect all sectors over time. Global crisis in 2008 affected many areas such as health sector. These effects have shown themselves both in the public sphere and the individual field. In this study, it is analyzed that the effects of 2008 crisis on health sector in Turkey. In this direction, it is primarily focused on the 2008 crisis. Then the effects of the crisis on the economy of the world, and economy of Turkey will be mentioned. Finally, the health impact of the crisis and the effects of the crisis on health and health care expenditures will be discussed through a variety of economic indicators. As a result, it is determined that crises had no direct effects on health sector and health expenditures. However for reasons such as reduction in real income and, increasing unemployment and poverty health sector were adversely affected by the crises.
