Abstract:

On October 4, 1914, a earthquake occurred on the Isparta-Burdur line. This earthquake has affected its surroundings, including the Isparta and Burdur centre. The earthquake killed many people and many were injured. Many of the buildings are either completely destroyed or damaged. Then the Ottoman authorities commissioned the Hilâl-i Ahmer community to cover the wounds of the earthquakes without losing time. The association formed an Immigration Committee, which included doctors, hospitals, cook and administrative officers, and immediately sent the committee to the earthquake area. Through the Earthquake Committee, the supply of food and clothing needs was made. It is also known to be possible to live here by providing tents or houses until barracks or houses are built to resolve housing problems. The help activities of the Hilâl-i Ahmer Community did not escape the attention of the local authorities, so the authorities have taken telegraphs reporting their satisfaction and gratitude to the Community.
