1.Dünya Savaşı´nda Osmanlı Devleti´nin taraf olduğu İttifak Devletleri´nin mağlup olması neticesinde imzalanan Mondros Ateşkes Antlaşması´nın 7. Maddesine istinaden İzmir´i işgal ederek Denizli´ye doğru ilerleyen Yunan kuvvetleriyle işbirliğine girmeleri nedeniyle Denizli´deki gayrimüslimler Kuvâ-yı Milliye tarafından tedbir amaçlı olarak Anadolu içlerine tehcir edilmek istenmiştir. Bu tehcir için görevlendirilen efelerin taşkın davranışları neticesinde halkın galeyana gelmesiyle bir-kaç tanesi öldürülmüştür. Bunun üzerine Denizli´yi basan Demirci Mehmet Efe, çoğu masum, halktan 68 kişiyi hunharca katletmiştir. Bu çalışmanın amacı, tarihe Denizli Vak’ası olarak geçen bu üzücü olayın yaşanmasına sebep olan etkenleri ve sonuçlarını, yeni tasnif edilen arşiv belgeleri ışığında ortaya koymaktır
The World War I was signed as a result of the defeat of the Allied States of the Ottoman State in the World War I. The purpose of this study is to reveal the factors and consequences that have led to the occurrence of this sad event that has passed into history as the Maritime Case, in the light of the newly identified archive documents.
