Several countries and international organizations in 21th century and the National Education Ministry in Turkey in the last decade begin to study on the field of values education. Values education in schools have important influence on the moral development of students. For this reason, the chapter of ‘values education’ was placed to the curriculum of the course called as Religious culture and Moral Knowledge in 2005 in addition to other courses. This study investigated the teachers' perceptions on ideal teacher who teaches moral values. I examined teachers’ views with regard to the problem of this study by conducting interviews with them. Participation to the study was completely voluntary. I interviewed twenty four teachers. I observed their teaching in the classrooms. Findings were interpreted with the help of the related literature.
