Russia is an important wheat producer and also exporter. In 2014, Russia exported about $ 5.3 million of wheat. Wheat accounted for one third of the total agricultural exports of Russia and Russia accounts for approximately 10 per cent of the world wheat export. In this study examines the international competitiveness of the Russia’s wheat sector, using Balassa’s Revealed Comparative Advantage index and Michaely index. In this study export data for the period 2001-2014 was used. The data used in this study was obtained from the International Trade Center database. According the research findings the Russia has a comparative advantage in global wheat market.
