Textile and apparel sector one of the key industries of Central Asia’s economies. It is plays an important role in Central Asia’s foreign trade and economic development. In the last 15 years, the export of textile and apparel products has grown 67 percent. Today, Central Asian countries are major producer and exporter of many textile and apparel products. In this study examined the competitive power of Central Asian economies in the textile and apparel sector. With this aim, the Revealed Comparative Advantage (RCA) and Revealed Symmetric Comparative Advantage (RSCA) indexes are used. The study used International Trade Centre statistical data for the period 2001-2014. According to the findings the Central Asian countries (except Kazakhstan) have a comparative advantage in textile and apparel sector. To improve the international competitiveness of Central Asian countries in textile and apparel trade should pay attention to the quality and design in production.
