It is quite difficult to identify a small number of powerful factors that will represent the region in regional studies such as geographical areas. Because important statistics are produced for larger geographical units like countries. A lot of the factors used resulted in statistically unsatisfactory results. Therefore, it will be quite useful to produce a small number of variables that represent too many factors together. The aim of this study is to create an index of socio-economic development for the provinces of Turkey. These indicators can be used as input for other analyses, and the provinces can be ranked according to these indicators. With the analysis of the basic components of the study, the indicators of socio-economic development of the provinces in Turkey for each year between 2008 and 2016 were obtained. According to this index values, in the period addressed Turkey's advanced ones are Istanbul, Ankara, İzmir, Kocaeli, Antalya, Bursa, Muğla, Konya, Eskişehir, Fiskesir, Adana, Mersin and Manisa. In the period taken, the less advanced of Turkey are Bingöl, Siirt, Mardin, Bitlis, Pain, Muş, Hakkari, Şırnak, Ardahan, Iğdır, Van, Namıyaman and Silverhane. When the levels of socio-economic development of the islands are studied in the east-west axis, it is seen that the islands are polarized in the east and west direction. In addition, the provinces that are on the Mediterranean, the Egean and the Marmara Sea coast have evolved more.
