Excavations at the Aceramic Neolithic settlement of Tatlısu-Çiftlikdüzü/Akanthou-Arkosykos, located in the Karpaz peninsula, stretching eastwards on the northern shore of Cyprus, were conducted between 2000-2005 and 2010-2015. After a short pause of work, the site went under new excavations and research in 2016. Among the chipped stone assemblage of the site, obsidian finds are studied with the question of the relationship of the site with mainland Anatolia. Another important line of research on the chipped stone industry of Tatlısu concerns the procurement and the technology of tools produced from local raw materials. Within the assemblage, sickle blades produced from local raw materials of flint and chert, constitute a well-defined tool category. The silica gloss observed on these tools indicates their use in plant harvesting. Besides their functions, technological analysis further reveals the production sequence of these tools. This study aims to provide data on the production and use of sickle blades by the Tatlısu community.
