Makroekonomik göstergeler ile birlikte belirlenen ilişkilerinden yararlanılarak ileriye yönelik tahminlere ve hükümet politikalarına öncülük edilebilmektedir. Çalışmada özellikle 1980’li yıllardan itibaren literatürde sıkça tartışılan makro göstergeler incelenerek, çalışmanın geçmişte uygulanan politikalar ışığında gelecekte uygulanması düşünülen politikalara yol gösterici olması amaçlanmıştır. İncelenen makroekonomik göstergeler büyüme, enflasyon, yabancı doğrudan yatırımlar, dış borç stoku, işsizlik, cari işlemler dengesi ve faiz oranları göstergelerini kapsamaktadır. Çalışmada, makroekonomik göstergeler hakkında kısaca bilgi verildikten sonra söz konusu göstergelerde uzun süreli meydana gelen değişmeler grafiklerle incelenmiş ve o dönemlerde uygulanan politikalar ve sebepleri tartışılmıştır. Türkiye ekonomisi 1980’li yıllardan günümüze kadar yurtiçi dengenin sağlanması adına çok önemli gelişmeler kaydetmiştir. Türkiye, büyüme, enflasyon, yabancı doğrudan yatırımlar, cari açık gibi alanlarda önceden belirlenen hedeflere ulaşmada başarılı olmuştur. Ancak işsizlik ve dış borçlar ekonominin sorunu olmaya devam etmektedir.
By using the relationships established with macroeconomic indicators, forward-looking forecasts and government policies can be pioneered. In this study, macro indicators that are discussed frequently in the literature since the 1980s have been examined and it is aimed to guide the policies that are thought to be applied in the future in the light of the policies applied in the past. The analyzed macroeconomic indicators include the indicators of growth, inflation, foreign direct investments, external debt stock, unemployment, current account balance and interest rates. In the study, after giving brief information about macroeconomic indicators, long-term changes in these indicators have been examined with graphics and the policies applied in those periods and reasons have been discussed. Turkey, growth, inflation, foreign direct investment has been successful in reaching predetermined targets in areas such as the current account deficit. However, unemployment and external debts remain the problems of the economy.
