Abstract:

The universe of this study, carried out with the general scan model for the purpose of determining the levels of perception of ethical problems in the field of health, was created by a total of 1648 students studying in the Department of Nursing, Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation (FTR) located in the Faculty of Health Sciences of the University of Gazi. The study included 446 survey applications identified and selected by the universe sample method.   The research was conducted by Kurt Vd. The scale "Ethical approach to health issues" developed by (2015) has been used. In the analysis of data, the visual analysis techniques such as the arithmetic average, standard deviation, the t-test in the comparison of two variables, and the one-way variable analysis (ANOVA) in the comparison of three or more variables were used. The researchers found that there were more ethical problems in issues such as “the lack of respect for the patient’s personality and privacy”, “the breach of the healthcare workers’ responsibility” and “the lack of protection of the rights of the weak/deficient people to healthcare”. In addition, it was found that participants’ opinions on ethical issues differed significantly in terms of gender, section, class level and ethical issues information level variables.

Abstract:

The population of this study which aimed  to determine the ethical problems experienced in the field of health and perceived levels related to these problmes through survey method consists of 1648 students studying at the Nursing and Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation (FTR) Departments of the Faculty of Health Sciences of Gazi University, and the sample group consisted of 446 students selected from the population through random sampling. The “Approach to Ethical Problems in Health Field” scale developed by Kurt et al. (2015) were employed to answer the research problems. In the analysis of the data, descriptive analysis techniques such as arithmetic mean, standard deviation; t-test to compare two variables, and one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) to compare three or more variables were used. As a result of the research, students stated that there were more ethical problems in terms of  “not respecting the personality and privacy of the patient”, “disrupting the responsibility of treatment of health workers” and “not protecting the rights of the powerless people regarding health services”. However, it was found that students’ views on ethical problems differed significantly in terms of gender, department, class level and knowledge level of ethical problems variables.
