The purpose of this study is to explore the Saka-Pers relationships in the Persian (Akhaimenid) period. In this regard, we first tried to explain how the Sakas were first described in the written and archaeological sources of Akhaimenid, and in the works of Greek writers. We tried to present the Saka images that belonged to the Akhaimenid period and that depicted the Saka. So far, many valuable studies have been often done on the Saka-Pers warfare. In this article we aimed to show the "coalition" relations of the Sakas with the Persians alongside the Saka-Persian wars. As a method, we used the Akhaimenid rallyes, which depicted the Achaimenid books, some Assur texts and ancient Greek texts, and some archaeological materials extracted from the tombs. In our study, we found that there are many groups that represent the Sakas, that the Sakas were in contact with the Iranian geography in the periods before the Akhaimenid, that they had hostile relations with the Persians in the early Akhaimenid period, and that the Persians with the Kserkses had a shoulder to the shoulder. Finally, we found that even though the Persians were defeated in the Greek wars and in the battles with the Great Alexander, the Persians in the Army were always superior to their rivals.
The aim of this study is to investigate the Saka-Persian relations during the period of Persia (Achaemenid). In this respect, we first tried to explain how the Sakas, particularly the Achaemenid, were depicted in the works in the written and archaeological sources, in the works of Greek writers. In doing so, we presented the oldest Saka images belonging to the Akhaimenid period and depicting the Sakas. Until now, there have been many valuable works on Saka-Persian wars. In this article, we aimed to show the alliance relations between the Sakas and Persians alongside the Saka-Persian wars. As a method, we used the Akhaimenid inscriptions, Assyrian documents and ancient Greek texts and the Achaemenid reliefs depicting the Sakas, the figures on the tombs and some archaeological materials extracted from the kurgans. In our study, we found that there were many groups identifying with the Sakas, that the Sakas had met with Iranian geography in the periods preceding the Achaemenids, and that there were some hostile relations with the Persians during the early Achaemenids period; we also determined that, together with Xerxes, the Persians collide with the Sakas. Finally, we found that although the Persians were defeated both in the Greek wars and in the battles with Alexander the Great, the Sakas in the Persian army always have superiority against their rivals.
