A Review of the Ethical Relationship of Humans to Animals and Plants) adlı makalesinde ortaya konulmuştur.
The term bioethics was first used in 1970 by Van Rensselaer Potter and Andre Hellegers. But as a term and concept, bioethics was first revealed in Fritz Jahr’s 1927 German scientific magazine Kosmos’s “Bio-ethics: A Review of the Ethical Relationship of Humans to Animals and Plants” (Bio-ethics: A Review of the Ethical Relationship of Humans to Animals and Plants). Although the first time Jahr revealed the term bioethics, today the term bioethics is used in a similar sense to the medical ethics, unlike the definition. For example, Warren Reich defines bioethics as a systematic study of human behavior in the field of life sciences and health care, to the extent that can be studied. However, the ethics which the Jahr life sciences re-evaluate by movement from the scientific data revealed, reaches the conclusion that not only the human life, but the whole life should be considered sacred. In this regard, Jahr points out that the philosophy, which previously focused on natural sciences, now has to build its own system on the knowledge of natural sciences. This was actually a revolution for him and he himself carried out a Copernican revolution in the ethical field.
