Botanik bahçeleri insanlara araştırma, koruma, sergileme ve eğitim amacıyla canlı bitkilerle tanışma gibi çeşitli alanlarda hizmetler sunan, canlı bitki örnekleri sergileyen bahçelerdir. Bunun yanında yürüme yolları, oturma ve seyir alanları, kafeterya, restoran, satış alanları gibi farklı nitelikli birimleriyle çok yönlü rekreasyon merkezleridir. Bu araştırmanın amacı lise öğrencilerinin botanik bahçeleri hakkındaki tutumlarını farklı değişkenlere göre belirlemektir. Bu amaç için 138 lise öğrencisine Botanik Bahçelerine Yönelik Tutum Ölçeği uygulanmıştır. Verilerin analizinde; ölçek verilerinin değerlendirilmesinde betimsel istatistiklerden aritmetik ortalamalar, cinsiyete göre yapılan karşılaştırmalarda Mann-Withney U testi, sınıf düzeyleri karşılaştırılırken ise Kruskal-Wallis testleri yapılmıştır. Sonuç olarak lise öğrencilerinin botanik bahçelerine yönelik tutumlarının yüksek olduğu ortaya çıkmıştır. Ayrıca ölçeğin hem genel hem de alt faktörlerine göre cinsiyet ve sınıf düzeyi değişkenleri açısından anlamlı bir farklılık oluşmamıştır. Bu bulgulara göre gelecekteki çalışmalar için önerilerde bulunulmuştur.
Botanical gardens are gardens that offer services in a variety of areas, such as dating living plants for research, protection, exhibition and education purposes. In addition, there are a variety of recreational centers with different qualified units such as walking roads, living and touring areas, cafés, restaurants, sales areas. The aim of this research is to determine high school students’ attitudes towards botanical gardens according to different variables. For this purpose, 138 high school students were applied to the Botanical Gardens Attitude Scale. As a result, high school students have a high attitude towards their botanical gardens. There has also been no significant difference in gender and class level variables according to both general and sub-factors of the scale. These findings show that there are recommendations for future studies.
