Cumhuriyet tarihi boyunca din-devlet ilişkileri genellikle sorunlu olmuştur. Devletin din algısı, meselenin politik boyutunun yanında din eğitimi ve öğretimi konusunu da etkileyen bir kapsama sahip olmuştur. Belirli dönemlerde doğrudan ya da dolaylı olarak dini dizayn etmek üzere yapılan müdahaleler, devletin din algısı ile toplumun dini algılama ve yaşama biçimlerinin farklılıklarını ortaya çıkarmıştır. Bu açıdan, uygulanan politikalar toplum nezdinde genellikle karşı çıkılması gereken bir tehdit olarak algılanmıştır. Cumhuriyet Türkiyesi’nde uygulanan din politikalarının din eğitimine yansımaları tüm siyasi iktidarların dini ve din eğitimini kendi siyasi ve ideolojik şartları çerçevesinde ele almanın ötesine geçemediğini göstermektedir. Bu durum bir sonucu olarak din eğitimi, siyasi çerçevede ele alınmıştır. Dolayısıyla doksan beş yıllık cumhuriyet tarihi boyunca devletin din eğitimi verip vermeyeceği tartışmalarından, din eğitiminin daha iyi nasıl verileceğine bir türlü odaklanılamamıştır. Bu çalışmada, cumhuriyet tarihi boyunca siyasi erkin dine yaklaşımının din eğitimi üzerindeki etkileri ele alınmaktadır. Bu bağlamda çalışma üç başlık altında ele alınmaktadır. Birinci başlık altında cumhuriyet dönemi din politikalarının tarihsel seyrine yer verilmekte, ikinci başlık altında uygulanan politikalarının ortaya çıkardığı sorunlara değinilmekte, üçüncü başlık altında 2002 öncesi ve sonrası dönemde din politikalarının din eğitimine etkisi tartışılmaktadır.
The relationship of religion and state has generally become problematic during the Republican history. The impressions of the state about the religion, in addition to the political dimension of the problem affect the religious education completely. In specific periods, direct or indirect involvements to design religion show the differentiation between the perception of the state about religion and the perception of the society or the lifestyle of them. In this respect, applied politics in front of society are perceived as a threat that has to be opposed generally. The reflections of the applied religious politics to religious education in the Republican Turkey were always significant. All political powers did not transcend to use religion and religious education within the terms of their own political and ideological conditions. This condition naturally causes to handle religious education within the framework of politics. Therefore, during the 95 years of Republican Turkey because of the discussion on whether the state can give religious education or not, the question of how we can give better religious education cannot be discussed. This article deals with influences of attitude to religion of political power on religious education during the Republican history. In this context, the article is discussed within three titles. First title deals with historical process of religious politics in the Republican period. The second title deals with the problems of applied politics. Third title deals with the effects of religious politics on religious education before and after 2002.
