Bu araştırmada arşiv tarama yöntemi kullanılarak dışadönüklük ve içedönüklük boyutları bakımından Birgili Mehmed Efendi’nin kişiliği üzerine psikolojik bir analiz yapılmıştır. Araştırmanın amacı, Birgili Mehmed Efendinin kişiliğinin anlaşılmasına katkıda bulunmaktır. Algı konusunda yapılan psikolojik çalışmalar kişilik türünün algıyı etkilediğini ortaya çıkarmıştır. Bu bağlamda araştırmanın bulguları Birgili Mehmed Efendi’nin dini algı ve yorumlarının daha iyi anlaşılmasına ışık tutacaktır. Araştırmada Birgili Mehmed Efendi’nin kişiliğinin içe dönük boyutunun güçlü buna karşılık dışadönük boyutunun zayıf olduğu sonucuna varılmıştır. Birgili Mehmed Efendi’nin içe dönük kişiliğine uygun tercihler yapması onun başarısının sırrını oluşturmuştur. Birgi’de kargaşadan uzak ilim ve ibadet odaklı bir hayat tarzını seçmesi hayatını daha verimli kıldığı gibi yaşaması muhtemel olumsuzluklardan korumuştur.
In this research, a psychological analysis was made on Birgili Mehmed Efendi's personality in terms of the dimensions of extraversion and introversion of personality by using the archive search method. The aim of the research is to contribute to the understanding of Birgili Mehmed Efendi's personality. Psychological studies on perception revealed that personality type affects perception. In this context, the findings of the study will shed light on Birgili Mehmed Efendi's religious perceptions and interpretations. In this research, it was concluded that the introversion dimension of the Birgili Mehmed Efendi's personality was strong, but the extroversion dimension was weak. The choice of the appropriate Mehmed Efendi in accordance with his introvert personality formed the secret of his successes in life. Choosing a lifestyle that is focused on science and worship away from chaos in Birgi has made his life more productive and protects him from possible negativities.
