The Turkish journalism literature is quite strong and its history goes to the 1960s. Although the number of judged academic journals in this field is limited, many articles appear to cover many different aspects of the field of journalism. This article explores how Turkish journalism literature has transformed through five chosen academic journals. According to the results of the bibliometric analysis for a total of 558 articles, single-written articles are the broadest group and the most referred to Turkish sources are in the articles. Moreover, it appears that in most articles the topic of the method is not clear enough. Nevertheless, a generation of young and productive new academics is expected to improve the quality of Turkish journalism literature in the near future.
