Kişinin dünyaya gelmesi ile birlikte başlayan toplumsal cinsiyet öğretileri birçok alanda cinsiyet eşitsizliklerini inşa eden bir durumu ortaya koymaktadır. Bu öğretiler sonucunda kadınlar ikincil konuma itilmekte ve ayrımcılığa uğramaktadır. Dolayısıyla, kadınlar çoğu alandan dışlanmakta ve ait oldukları iddia edilen alanlar ise değersizleştirilmektedir. Siyasal yapı da kadınların dışlandığı alanlardan biridir. Dünün ve bugünün siyasal yapısında kadının temsilini ve bu temsilin basındaki yansımalarını ortaya koyarak tartışmak yarının siyasal temsillerinin daha eşitlikçi olabilmesinin de önünü açmak konusundaki eylemlere bir ivme katabilecektir. Bu çalışmada, toplumsal cinsiyet eşitsizlikleri bağlamında kadınların siyasal alanda temsili Dünya ve Türkiye tarihi açısından ele alınmıştır. Basının siyasal alandaki etkin kullanımından yola çıkılarak kadın milletvekili adaylarının basında yer alan haberlerdeki temsil biçimleri incelenmiştir. Bu doğrultuda, 7 Haziran 2015 ve 1 Kasım 2015 Genel Seçimleri öncesinde milletvekili aday listelerinin açıklandığı tarih itibari ile farklı ideolojilere sahip olan gazetelere (Birgün, Cumhuriyet, Posta, Yeni Akit ve Yeni Şafak) ulaşılmıştır.Bu gazetelerde yer alan haberler içerik analizi yöntemi ile incelenerek kadın milletvekili adaylarının basında temsil biçiminin toplumsal cinsiyet eşitsizlikleri bağlamında ortaya koyulması amaçlanmıştır. Elde edilen veriler erkek milletvekili adayları ile ilgili haberlerin kadın milletvekili ile ilgili haberlerden niceliksel olarak gazetelerde daha fazla yer aldığını ortaya koymaktadır. Benzer farklılıklar haberin niteliksel boyutunda da ortaya çıkmaktadır. Bu bağlamda, okur kitlesinin seçim süreçlerinde daha doğru bilgilenebilmesi için basının siyasal alanda kadın adaylar ile ilgili eşitlikçi bir tutum sergilemeleri gerekmektedir.
Social gender doctrines, which begin with the person’s birth, reveal a situation that builds gender inequality in many areas. As a result of these teachings, women are pushed to a secondary position and discriminated. Therefore, most women are excluded from the area, and the areas they claim to belong to are underestimated. The political structure is one of the areas where women are excluded. Discussing the representation of the woman in the political structure of yesterday and today, and the reflections of this representation in the press, could add an impulse to the actions on the opening of the perspective that the political representations of tomorrow could be more equal. In this study, social gender inequalities in the context of women represented in the political field in terms of the history of the world and Turkey. From the effective use of the press in the political field, the representative forms of women's candidates in the press were examined. In this regard, before the General Elections of 7 June 2015 and 1 November 2015, the lists of candidates for the parliament were published on the date of the publication of the newspapers with different ideologies (Birgün, Republic, Post, New Akit and New Dawn).The news in these newspapers, by examining the method of content analysis, aimed at revealing the form of representation of women candidates for the parliament in the press in the context of social gender inequalities. The data obtained shows that the news about the male parliament candidates is quantitatively more published in the newspapers than the news about the female parliament. Similar differences appear in the quality size of the news. In this context, in order for the reader to be more informed in the electoral process, the press needs to demonstrate an equal attitude towards women candidates in the political field.
