Türkiye ekonomisi 2018 yılı Temmuz-Ağustos döneminde Türk Lirası’ndaki aşırı değer kaybı nedeniyle zor günler geçirmiş ve döviz kurlarında ani ve keskin yükseliş ve düşüşlerin karakterize ettiği bir kur krizi deneyimlemiştir. Bu çalışmada, haber medyasının neoliberal ideolojiyi doğallaştırmasını örneklemek amacıyla Türkiye ekonomisinde yaşanan kırılganlıklar sonucunda 2018 yılında TL’nin döviz karşısında değer kaybetmesi olarak beliren döviz kuru krizinin haber medyasında nasıl temsil edildiği ve haberin söylemini belirleyen temel öğeler olan sözcük seçimleri ve durum tanımları analiz edilmiştir.Bu çalışmada, gazetelerde yer alan haberlerin ardalanındaki ideolojik etkileri ortaya çıkarmak amacıyla, Teun van Dijk’ın haber metinlerine uyguladığı eleştirel söylem çözümlemesi yöntemini temel alarak basının döviz kuru krizi bağlamında ekonomide ortaya çıkan olumsuz tabloyu nasıl tanımladığı ele alınmıştır.
The Turkish economy in the period July-August 2018 has experienced difficult days due to the excess value loss in the Turkish Lira and has experienced a currency crisis characterized by sudden and sharp rise and decline in the exchange rate. In this study, we analyzed the word choices and situation definitions, which are the basic elements that determine the news media and how the currency crisis, which appears as the loss of value of the TL against the currency in 2018 as a result of the vulnerabilities in the Turkish economy in order to illustrate the neoliberal ideology of the news media. In this study, in order to reveal the ideological effects behind the news in the newspapers, based on Teun van Dijk’s method of critical discourse analysis on the news texts, the press described the negative picture that emerged in the economy in the context of the currency crisis.
