United Nations Convention on the Rights of People with Disabilities is the first comprehensive treaty establishing the right of people with all types of disabilities to equality, dignity, autonomy, and full participation in society. The Convention is regarded as the first human rights document of the 21st century. Therefore, the Convention has a great importance. After Turkey is a party to the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, It has made many regulations regarding the disabled persons. This article studies to display a general evaluation of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and aims to demonstrate the current stage reached regarding the rights of persons with disabilities in Turkey.
